Deputy Prime Minister Checks Out Rebirth Into Reality

Had to post this up. Pretty cool to see Deputy Prime Minister Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak check out Too Phat's "Rebirth Into Reality" (sent to him via representatives from Joe Flizzow).

Here's an exclusive report of the moment when the DPM received the Too Phat package. Many thanks to our contributor!

When the DPM was given Too Phat's album, Rebirth Into Reality (after an exclusive press interview about Merdeka and his father Tun Razak, Bapa Pembangunan) he thought the album was by an international group.
He said, "its funny isn't it, that when we were young, our father didn't understand our music...now we don't understand our children's music. Hip hop? Is this American?"
When told Too Phat's local he looked surprised.

He was told by the person who gave him that Too Phat was an example of a GLOKAL - his own coinage of a word to describe a local who has brought his ideas, work, craft, business etc beyond Malaysian shores. A local who thinks global is a glokal, and according to Datuk Seri Najib every Malaysian must strive to be a glokal.
After scrutinising the album signed by Joe Flizzow with the words "To YAB Datuk Seri Najib, Thank you for your leadership"- he told his press secretary, "we'll listen to this on the way to Melaka." (where he was going that afternoon). - 6 July 2007
